ClearSky Climate Solutions is a multidisciplinary organization with strong consulting experience over a wide range of climate change and natural resource issues. Our team has broad experience in climate change mitigation projects involving: Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD), Improved Forest Management (IFM), Afforestation/Reforestation projects (A/R), conservation, protected area management, carbon sequestration assessment, and carbon credit monitoring and accounting. We also have experience working on natural resource management, spatial and quantitative modeling, ecological and environmental impact assessment, organizational development, community-based development and extensive forms of capacity development at all levels. Our primary focus is to support these activities through sustainable community development. We are equipped to support project development activities from design through implementation.
While these activities are ClearSkys primary focus, we also offer many levels of related consulting support. For example, ClearSky has developed programs for corporations interested in institutionalizing environmental and social safeguards in their development operations. We also have a well-developed capacity to perform Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas assessments or carbon footprints. This activity often leads us to develop strategies for corporate and institutional clients to reduce and mitigate unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions. ClearSky can act as a broker for carbon credits generated from our own projects, as well as from projects developed by others. We are strongly committed to climate change education as part of our work, and we regularly deliver presentations to a diverse array of classrooms, community groups, professionals, and technical experts.
Our offices are located in Missoula, Montana, USA, home to the University of Montana’s globally recognized programs in forestry, wildlife, environmental law, and international business. Our unique position in this region and global contacts give us the capacity to draw upon a wide range of readily available international expertise. ClearSky personnel have supported projects in countries throughout the world. Experiences in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, the Caribbean, and North America enable ClearSky to understand the importance of context for effective project design and implementation. Our experts have assisted governments, communities, private companies, and non-governmental organizations to implement numerous projects financed by the private sector, United Nations, USAID, the World Bank, and the National Fish and Wildlife Federation.
