August 2013, Chile, South America: Keegan Eisenstadt, ClearSky’s CEO participated in the Facilitators Training Course organized by MAPS (Mitigation Action Plans and Scenarios) and the LEDS GP (Low Emissions Development Strategies Global Partnership). http://www.mapsprogramme.org/workshops/1533/ Working with a broad array of climate change professionals from throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, Mr. Eisenstadt developed tools for modeling, visioning and communicating future emissions scenarios – pending the implementation of policy and legislative changes. These inclusive techniques are applicable for climate change planning and discussions in many countries.
July 2013, Butte, MT: ClearSky has worked to make the Montana Clean Energy Fair a climate neutral event! After working with www.montanarenewables.org to assess the event’s greenhouse gas footprint, we then donated certified offsets to make the event climate neutral. The Fair was held at the National Center for Appropriate Technology and included activities like a keynote speech by Governor Steve Bullock, workshops in solar, small wind, biofuels and more, a hybrid/electric car show, model solar car races and exhibits by Montana clean energy businesses.
July 2013, Missoula, MT: After working with County Fair Productions, in New York City, ClearSky has created a comprehensive approach to mitigate the greenhouse gas footprints associated with professional photo shoots. This will help reduce the climate emissions component of the environmental impact of The County Fair Productions photo shoots. They are trying to green an industry with local foods, recycling, energy conservation and other clever and common sense ideas that are, after all, just good sense. April 2013, Missoula, MT: After five years on Higgins, ClearSky is moving to Broadway! Our new office is now in one of the many historical buildings in Missoula. Feel free to stop in and say hi.
February 2013, Turkey: We collaborated with a Turkish conservation organization, Doğa Koruma Merkezi, by developing and leading a 3-day forest-carbon training for Turkish government officials, non-profits, and private-sector actors. ClearSky also spoke on two panels, one in Ankara and the other in Istanbul. The project was funded by the British Embassy in Turkey.
January 2013, Missoula, MT: ClearSky’s Molly White collaborated on the City of Missoula’s Conservation & Climate Action Plan by serving on the Renewable Energy and Offsets Working Group. The plan lays out a bold goal which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2025. The City Council unanimously passed the plan this week, see this Missoulian article. Well done Missoula!
